Glossary

  • CDX1 — RASAero II rocket design file used as input and export format.
  • Candidate — one actual parameter vector and the rocket geometry generated from it.
  • RASAero altitude — predicted flight apogee used for optimization objective.
  • Feasible — candidate meeting all enabled validity, static, and optional flutter screening criteria.
  • Unrestricted winner — highest predicted altitude among valid evaluated flights, ignoring optional design constraints.
  • Static margin (calibers) — normalized axial difference between CG and CP relative to reference diameter under the software's defined conventions.
  • Native marginal warning — RASAero-reported stability concern for a completed flight; distinct from unstable termination.
  • Empirical flutter exposure ratio — modeled airspeed divided by corrected estimated flutter speed at a flight sample.
  • Starting points — number of initial points used in multistart/refinement workflow.
  • Evaluation budget — cap on optimization objective calls; repeated parameter vectors can be cached and do not necessarily yield distinct simulations.
  • Shortlist — selected distinct feasible evaluated designs, not new interpolated geometries.
