Results, shortlist, and comparison¶
The Optimization Results window provides the evaluated-candidate table, selected-candidate summary, and buttons labeled View Details..., Open in RASAero, Export..., Export absolute best..., Export filtered best..., Export CSV..., 3D candidates..., History chart..., and Shortlist....
Interpret the winners¶
Best feasible: highest-altitude evaluated candidate satisfying the requirements active during the run. Best unrestricted valid altitude: candidate with highest RASAero altitude irrespective of enabled screening. Do not conflate a display filter changed after the run with constraints the optimizer actually used.
Shortlist¶
Select Shortlist.... The shortlist is drawn from actual completed, feasible evaluations, ranked for altitude with a normalized-parameter separation to reduce near-duplicates. It may contain fewer than five entries, including just one. Use Compare selected... to compare multiple candidates and Export selected... to prepare a CDX1.
Candidate Details¶
The detail window shows source geometry, initial CG/CP reference markers where available, numeric flight/stability properties, a Flutter screening tab, and optional Flight histories.... Angular-rate and coning-related predictions remain diagnostic rather than fully validated dynamic stability judgments.
Assignment 14 illustration¶
Six unique candidates were tested; only one met all active requirements. The software selected 21,163 ft feasible versus an unrestricted 21,638 ft. The limited run illustrates selection logic, not a guarantee of the best possible geometry.
